By the way, the Oscars are complete and utter bullshit. Self-congratulatory backpatting that mostly serves as an excuse for people to dress up and work on their “surprised” faces. As much as I love to liveblog award shows, it’s important to remember that ultimately they contribute nothing to the cultural landscape other than being able to tack on a worthless “Academy Award winner” title before your name.
