I’m sorry but “Necessary Roughness” is the clunkiest title of any TV show, ever.

I really hate TV shows where the name is some kind of cutesy pun or spin on a cliche (I’m totally guilty of coming up with these, but that doesn’t make me hate them any more). But USA is THE FUCKING WORST about that, okay? Like, why does every show have to just be about someone with a vaguely interesting job, and the title’s a little joke about that? Like, Necessary Roughness — she’s a therapist who works with athletes! (I assume. Just from the ads, I mean.) Common Law — their job is to uphold the law, and also they argue like an old married couple! Fairly Legal — she’s hot, and a lawyer type! Suits — they wear suits and handle lawsuits! Psych — he’s a psychic, but not really! Psyche! Royal Pains — I have no idea what this show is about but I assume it’s about a doctor who treats really rich people? Shoulda made it about the royal family’s private physician. Taran Killam and Allison Williams could’ve played Will and Kate.

Look, I am just saying, I know USA has a formula and it makes them a lot of money, but their titles are really fucking dumb. And I am usually the biggest advocate of puns, but… not in this case.

IT’S JUST THE WORST, YOU GUYS.
